Strawberries at Spruce Lane
Spruce Lane offers U-pick and pre-pick healthy and delicious strawberries.
We currently grow 2 varieties of strawberries.

1. The June bearing "Kent" strawberries are the sweetest of all strawberries. We have an abundant berry crop from late June to mid-July. Kents are noted for their large size and flavor. A good keeper, they hold up well when frozen.

2. Our day neutral "Sea-Scape" are the fall bearing variety of strawberry. Flowers and fruit are produced on runners the same year that they develop. They bear fruit from August to first frost in the fall.

Spruce Lane strawberries grow in a rich black soil to which we add an abundance of wood shavings and horse manure. We mulch with wheat straw in the fall. No chemicals are used on our strawberries. We carefully prepare our soil prior to planting. Our goal is to produce a healthy, delicious strawberry in a disease and weed controlled environment.


We have been a member a market gardeners association since we began our strawberry garden in 2000. Currently we are members of the Alberta Farm Fresh Producers Assoc.
